The Ulster Karting Club Ulster Championship meeting will be in full gear this Saturday June 15 at Nutts Corner Circuit (Dundrod Rd, Nutts Corner).

Rockmount’s Jimmy Bruen team reach quarter finals with fine win

Glorious sunshine was the order of the day at Rockmount on Saturday June 8. The scoring in the McNeill Hotel-Ware sponsored competition was very impressive. John Hinds (19) was first overall with a nett score of 43 points; he was one point better than Thomas Gibson (06) who scored 42 points. The low section (0-11) was won by the in-form Henry Moore (10) with 38 points. The mid-section (12-17) was won by William Blyth (15) with 40 points and the high section (18-28) was won by John Morgan (18) with 39. In total 23 players beat par. The best gross on the day was scored by Thomas Gibson with a level par score of 72 but as Thomas had finished second the best gross prize went to Peter Coffey who shot 77.
